Pictures of Cardiff Castle in four seasons

Spring Castle
Having lived in Cardiff on and off for the last three years I've managed to create a nice collection of Cardiff Castle pictures throughout the seasons.
Summer Castle
Cardiff Castle keep was built by the Normans on the remains of a Roman fort. The castle was extended several times in Medieval times. Various noble families lived in the castle until it was acquired by mariage by Lord Bute in 1766.
Autumn Castle
The Bute family became rich from exporting coal. The 3rd Marquess of the Bute family was reputed to be the richest man in the world. Much of the castle has been rebuild in a style he and his architect William Burges thought it looked liked in ages past.
Winter Castle
Even though much of the additional buildings have been altered throughout the centuries, the Norman keep in the center of the castle remains mostly in original state.

An entry to ticket Cardiff Castle is either "grounds only" or "grounds and a tour". I can recommend joining the tour when you visit the Castle. Unfortunately it is not allowed to take pictures during the tour, but there are some intresting rooms and paintings to view.
