Malahide castle is a short train trip away from Dublin. The castle is set in a large park.

Malahide castle has been occupied by the same family from 1185 to 1973. The last heir of the Talbot family moved to Australia. She couldn't afford to pay the inheritance taxes and sold the castle because she couldn't afford the inheritance tax.

It is not allowed to take photographs during the tour. That's why there are only pictures of the outside of the castle.

Just outside the castle you can find the ruined remains of a church.
